Multidisciplinary Assessment

Utilizing a multidisciplinary team is best practice when conducting autism evaluations. Our team consists of psychology, psychiatry, social work, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and applied behavioral analysis to work together to clarify diagnosis and develop an individualized support plan. Team members involved in your evaluation will be based on your unique needs. Our family advocate and diagnostic coordinator assist in providing families with community-based resources and support during and after the evaluation process.

Autism Evaluation
Process

Step 1: Contact Us
Visit the Autism and Neurodevelopmental Center webpage to complete the referral form. Click here to fill out the form.

This form will be used to gather information and determine what services you need. Once you have completed the form, you will receive an email confirmation of this update and our team will start the evaluation process.

Step 2: Gather Information
Our team requests all information before your evaluation to allow for a speedy turnaround. We will send you a questionnaire and request necessary information for future steps.

Step 3: Diagnostic Interview
We will contact you to schedule a diagnostic interview with a professional counselor to determine if our services are an appropriate fit for you. During this interview, you will receive individualized recommendations and supports to start services within our center.

Step 4: Behavioral Rating Scales
We will send behavioral rating scale forms to you and the teacher to document observations in two environments. Our team would appreciate it if you notified your child’s teacher to accomplish this task.

Step 5: Schedule an Appointment
Our team will call you to schedule the evaluation. We schedule appointments one month ahead. Please prepare for the evaluation appointment to be four to five hours long with breaks included.

Step 6: Feedback
Your psychologist and resource team member will review the results and provide recommendations.

Post Evaluation

After an evaluation you will meet with your providing psychologist and a member of the resource team. This meeting will be used to discuss the results, resources, and provide you with individualized recommendations.

Evaluation & Diagnosis

The diagnostic team is dedicated to providing an innovative evaluation process. By scheduling a diagnostic interview with a therapist soon after intake forms are received, our team can start individualized support while you wait for a diagnosis. You will be connected with a professional and become involved with our center’s resources, support, and therapies.

Arc-37

This is a super exciting development for southwest Missouri! It is affiliated with the Arc of the Ozarks so I can already tell it’s going to be an awesome addition to the community.
