Psychiatric Care

Psychiatric care focuses on diagnosing, treating, and managing mental health conditions to improve emotional, psychological, and behavioral well-being. It encompasses a wide range of services, including therapy, medication management, and innovative treatments tailored to individual needs. Services we provide include:

  • Diagnostic interview
  • Medication management
  • Pharmacogenomic testing
    • We are pleased to provide GeneSight testing for our patients so that they can better understand which medications are right for them.
    • The GeneSight Psychotropic test analyzes how your genes may affect your outcomes with medications commonly prescribed to treat depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other mental health conditions. The GeneSight Psychotropic test provides your clinician with information about which medications may require dose adjustments, may be less likely to work for you or may have an increased risk of side effects based on your genetic makeup. Interventional
Psychiatry

Interventional psychiatry is a specialized branch of psychiatry that focuses on advanced, evidence-based treatments for mental health conditions, especially those that are resistant to traditional therapies like medication and talk therapy. It employs innovative techniques to directly influence brain activity and improve symptoms. Common treatments include:

  • Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) - Traditional, Deep, Theta Burst - TMS stimulates and resets specific areas of the brain that regulate your mood to provide relief and break the cycle of depression.
  • MeRT (EEG guided TMST) Uses brainwave analysis to isolate specific areas of the brain that are not functioning or communicating the way they should.
    • MeRT is non-invasive, FDA Cleared and drug-free.
    • The approved treatment is pain-free and involves placing a magnetic coil on your head, This coil will deliver an individualized treatment protocol to the targeted region of your brain.
    • We are currently in the pilot phase of this program and will soon be making it available on a wider basis.
  • Esketamine (Spravato) - A nasal spray medication taken with an oral antidepressant for adults with treatment-resistant depression.
  • Cranial Electrotherapy (aka Alpha Stim) - While stimulating parts of the brain that produce serotonin, the Alpha-Stim also calms areas of the brain that process fear. This helps to soothe mental health disorders like depression and anxiety.

This is a super exciting development for southwest Missouri! It is affiliated with the Arc of the Ozarks so I can already tell it’s going to be an awesome addition to the community.
